However in the op's case i believe his batt is in the trunk with his amps and if so i would just fuse it right before the amp. Dont want to take a chance of it getting cut and shorting out on your body. However in the op's case i believe his batt is in the trunk with his amps and if so i would just fuse it right before the amp. eh? the rear battery to amplifier cable needs to be fused as close to the rear battery as possible. if you're fusing 3 feet from the rear battery, you're leaving 3 feet of cable to short out and start a fire, or in the event that the cable comes loose from the fuse holder in the event of an accident. you need to fuse the rear battery to amplifier cable as close to the battery as possible.
