18abVFL
you should always glue and screw together. just normal elmers wood glue. glue does about 90% of the holding, the nails or screws just keep it in place and re-enforce. 1999 Monte Carlo Sony CDX-GT34w 2 Alpine Type R 12"s in 4 cubes tuned to 35hz American Bass VFL 80.1 amp @ 1 ohm (probably doing between 1000 and 1300rms) Stock alt, Stock batt, Big 3 Upgrade Boston s55- 5 1/4s (doors) Boston s95- 6x9s (rear deck)
mlstrass
take it apart and start over using glue this time and recalculate your port length as you're tuned a LOT lower then 38Hz...
trjohnst
Well the box sounds like crap right now because of openings between some of the wood. It hits a little harder than my last one and gets just as loud, but sounds horrible at low volumes. Once I glue it this week, the sound waves should be better and should sound awesome. I took around 3+ inches off of my port lengths, so it should be good now. I still don't understand how my tune was too low because the calculator I used said it would be around 38hz. But anyways, thanks for the input thus far! 1991 Accord Audioque HDC3 15" (Copper)<--Sub Audioque HDC3 15" (Copper)<--Backup Sub Crescendo BC2000D<--Amp Big 3 1/0 Knu<--Wiring Eonon 3.5" DVD<--Headunit Infinity Kappa Perfect<--Mids & Highs 2nd Stock 80Amp alt. 1991 Mustang 5.0 Too many mods (Sold) 1991 240sx SR20 Red Top Too many mods (Sold) 2004 GTO Just starting mods
Torres
I still don't understand how my tune was too low because the calculator I used said it would be around 38hz. i didn't look at the .txt file, but something tells me you cut the port out as long as the port you entered in for port length. if the port bends, the 'physical port' should be shorter, as the 90º angle accommodates for some of that length. so making physical port as long as your effective port lowered the tuning
