Supercharged DCs
It won't put out a constant 1500wrms. And yes, 14-16sqin per cube is normally recommended, but you want it to be louder, so may as well try out 17sqin or so. It shouldn't be clipping if you've set the gain properly to match the voltage your headunit is putting out. Quote Bassless once again. matt402
u could always make an interchangeable port... . (less port area = lower tuning)
Berto
Lower tuning usually wants more power. But 33hz isn't too low. Supercharged DCs
What vehicle is this going in? Sub up port forward/ rearward may not be the best setup to go with. Quote Bassless once again. Sammitch0
I matched the gain I set it perfectly. It still gets hot and off the SAME power the SSD was getting its only like half as loud... and from what I hear the AP's put out dirty clipped signal to get 1500rms and thats at 14.4v rating id think a more efficient high power amplifier that does rated at 13.5v would help a lot. I don't know ELSE it could be other than the AP Ive talked to dave hes confirmed my subwoofer can handle 1500rms daily it CANT be the subwoofer ive checked that theory over for hours and it ALL leads back to clipping/voltage drop and box. Its a jeep grand cherokee so far sub up port back has been the loudest my current setup is sub back port back and ive also tried both up. and im running a stock 90a, walmart battery and big III with 0 gauge. I'm running TWO amps totally about 2000rms. Supercharged DCs
Before you go spending any money on this, maybe try and find someone with an amplifier you could use to test your theory of dirty power. I honestly believe that 27hz tuning is unnecessary. Quote Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012. Autruche
Not gonna lie dude, I doubt you have enough power and cone area to be tuned that low and still get that loud. Tune around mid 30s and it should get much better. You don't have to be tuned super low to play the lows well. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? Sammitch0
Yeah this was a little test and I think it failed haha I agree my first step is a new box then I'll go from there I just got onto some money and I want to upgrade my main equipment and wanted to know if the cadence was a good choice for my subwoofer and im getting batteries anyways because I plan to unr a 2nd one. So does my box design seem like a go?
