I had 2 12's in single cab ford ranger and there was more excursion from the roof of the truck than the subs, and I didn't have full power to them, only around 3/4, and it was very lound. But I never had a problem with mine and the guy who has my truck still bumps them loud as crap. I thought they sounded decent also. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. Blue Posted June 2, 2011 Report Share Posted June 2, 2011 I've ran the pioneer shallow mount in my truck before. Decent for what it is. But to be honest I have seen not heard the new type R shallow mounts and they are impressive. Might want to look into them. They have same amount of excursion as the regular ones do (or just shy). If I had to choose a beefy shallow mount alpine Type R shallow is the route I would go.
