Loudercat
So Ive just bought a DD 9512 to be installed in a 96 Accord. Im going for a show quality install, with a no nonsense approach to power (1.5k -2.5k for the sub alone) The problem that i have is that i would really like the sub enclosure to be symetrical. I plan on facing the sub toward the rear seats, so i would need a box design that has a port on each side. Ive never build an enclosure with more than one slot port...... will it sacrifice performance at all? How do i go about it? any input is much appreciated. P.s. i cant have any of you pros build me one because i live in the asshole of the world (New Zealand) and shipping would be mental expensive. Louisiana Bass
You can put an aeroport on each side. N8. No homo...unless you want there to be.
Loudercat
are they as good as slot ports tho?
fecupe2001
They are better than a slot port without a big ass flare if you ask me, 2.5 cubic feet and 2 6" aeroports it´s a proven kickass box for the 9512, you could get an aeroport on each side... RAM_Designs
I'd just do two slot ports. Using a lot of port area with aeros is a pain since you end up needing to buy elbows and such to make the turn inside the box. And you'll probably have to find your own thin-wall PVC to extend the ports longer, since they're only 17" stock. IMO slots are just easier to make work, especially if you want a lot of port or a low tuning. fecupe2001
Yes sir you are right, i didn´t think about that before since i´ve tried those subs in a big ass SUV, 2 6" aeros on a trunk car would be a pain in the ass for this application on a 2.5 c/f box, maybe 2 slots 24SQ each one??
