NebraskaS10
Well i need help designing a new box for the sub in my signature. I have been reading up on bandpasses and am pretty sure thats the route i want to go, and from what i've read i think i want a box that has a 2:1 (Ported:Sealed) and tuning should be mid 40s. My goals are to smash lows (low 30s) and still be able to get loud, maybe get it metered. So does anyone have any help? I have around 3-4 cubes to play with, and need some more help on total port area, total size for the chambers, and maybe port placement/type. D-train-13k
most people like slot ports cause it looks cleaner. but i would suggest building it with round ports so you can figure out your exact tuning and then make another box with the preffered slot port tuning. i see your sub is a level 4. but is it a 12 or 15? NebraskaS10
So between .6-.75 sealed, would that mean 1.2-1.5 ported, and what kind of tune would i be looking at for the ported side? Also would an aero work?? I've heard that 4th orders need lots of port area (20 sq/in per cube), is that also why people choose slot ports? Thirdly, what kind of tuning would i be looking at? I tend to stuck between 11 - 16 square inches per cube. .6 - .75 sealed, 1.2 - 1.5 ported, after displacements. 43 - 45 hz tune. Aeros work, I just prefer slot Quote 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L.
