skittlesRgood
I'd put some JB Weld on that bish, or even if you have a real welder, or know someone, just put a bead on it. sorry... this is a joke right? the baskets are aluminum right? so thats pretty hard to weld. plus wouldnt it fuck up the glue, surround, or even light the paper cone on fire if you got a good spark? i dont weld so i could be wrong but thats my take on it. get some pics. it might be just fine. but a new basket and recone wont come cheap. Well, as far as the basket being aluminum, thats the reason why I mentioned if he "knows someone". Aluminum can be welded. And as for the fire possiblities, I would hope the OP would be smart enough to get a recone before welding on the basket. But JB Weld should hold it plenty well. memphisBred
Same thing happened to one of my XL's. I stripped out a screw and when I was pulling it out of my wall, it snapped. Called Rusty and he said it would be fine, just to make sure I get a good/secure bite on the screw hole closest to the crack. I put JB weld on it, made sure all the screws were hitting both baffles, and it has been good ever since. Autruche
To be honest though, if they won't warranty it, just throw it in and beat the shit out of it. If it breaks, it breaks. Deal with it if it happens. Granted you're talking like $175 in new parts to recone it, but you may get $175 bucks worth of enjoyment out of it before it goes to crap. As far as we know, it could be fine though. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
