C.Sanchez.A
Besides the alternator being fried what would cause the charging system to fail? I changed the alternator and put in a new battery and yet when ever I start the car the batteries (the old one and new one) both drop into the 11 range. Skullz
You will need to have everything tested separately to get to the root cause of the problem, you might have a single bad battery or a bad alt or a pair of bad batteries but tough to say till they get checked out. Both batteries are resting around 12.6v. I am about to test the new alt to see what it's putting out. Autruche
Maybe you have a bad exciter wire? There is a trick to installing a stand-alone one, but I'm not even sure how the wiring harness is on your vehicle. Quote Need Test Tones/Sine Waves?
