What do I need to bandpass my mid-ranges???

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I have a DC 175.4...

I need the amp to only play from 80hz to 4000hz.(pa speakers)

The amp has a built in bandpass feature, but it only goes up to 300hz, so that won't work.

My HU does not have band passing options (x920 bt)

I have no room in my dash for any half din or din units, so it needs to be a trunk mountable unit.

And I don't want to spend a fortune...

I have asked this question to at least 10 people, in multiple threads, and no one wants to give me an answer...

Please help me out.

Just my little 2 cents. I have a rockford fosgate 3sixty.2 running my entire system (so far just the mids and highs) and i have my crossover point on the 3sixty setup so that the mids are bandpass at 80Hz-3000Hz with a 24dB octave. Then my highs are set to highpass at 3000Hz on a 24dB octave. I have the unit running so that the front inputs will operate the mids and the rear inputs will operate the highs.

Ive had this setup running with my dc audio 175.4 with 0 problems (other than me blowing a tweeter but thats totally my fault, i gave them a bit too much power the first week, hahaha) and my system sounds crystal clean and i have yet to use a RTA to ensure the automatic settings my 3sixty did for me are accurate but i like how it sounds now.

If you can, id say save up some money and get yourself a 3sixty.2 or 3sixty.3 when it comes out.

Or if you want to go the cheap way (havent tried it so i cant say anything about experience) you can get f-mods that you put on the rca inputs of your 175.4 that are lowpass. Get one thats lowpass around 4000Hz and then set your 175.4 to highpass at 80Hz. This would work but it wouldnt be all that accurate.

Hope this helps!!

I might just try to pick up a 360.2.

It will have no issues managing all 4 of my amps, right?

2x saz 1500's for the sub, a DC 175.4 for mids, and an mb quart 60.4 for the tweets.

Also would I remove the remote gain knob from the master 1500 and use the 360.2 knob for adjustments instead.

And I don't gave access to a palm device. Will this be an issue?

Also, what is the difference between the .1 and the .2?

WAY more. iirc correctly the .1 has 5 bands per channel and the .2 has 10 for the sub channel, 32 for each front channel, 25 for each rear channel and how ever many for the center channel.

I'm not even going to have a rear channel.

Just the sub, mids, and tweets.

So I'm assuming I should shell out the dough for the .2 (if I can find a used one)

.2 all the way. I use only the front channels and sub channel on mine for now. Eventually inwill be using both front and rear but I'm in no hurry to redo all the wiring for that right now.
