crav1n
buy a second amp the same, and strap them into 2ohm? that's what I was thinking, but I really don't have 700$ to drop on an amp right now one thing that makes me wonder though...if I'm wired to 1 ohm, and dropping below that obviously I don't see why it would be protecting? the amp is stable at .5 daily, and .25 for burps. How low could it be dropping for it to protect? I guess I don't know a whole lot about impedance rise/drop. TheyDontWantMusic
the amp isn't rated at 0.5ohm, its rated at 1ohm. the impedance isn't dropping, it just isn't rising as much. you aren't wired at 1ohm are you? you're wired at 0.5ohm. n8ball2013
i cant remember any reasons why im so against .5 for a daily driver....... better hope you didnt crispy anything inside it. or close to crispy. korey_hofer
that amp will take .5 no problem what I'm confused about is how your sitting one ohm even dcr should be less than 1ohm wired at .5 nominal. take all the subs out and re wire the box making sure the phase is correct on each sub and making sure none of the coils got labeled backwards from the factory Quote previously known as wenn_du_weinst aka fucking internet coward supreme. irpirate
that's what confused me as well. flat wall was sitting pretty at .5ohm final load. he should be re-wiring everything today. he has all his 8 gauge wires running to the back where they all get spliced and connected to one 8 gauge wire that goes into the amp which is my guess for why it's sitting high (or least part of the reason) Quote hiiiiiiii2002 4runner - buncha speakers n amps n shit (gone)1994 astro - more stuffzupdate: pretty sure all the pic links in the logs are broken lol. ma slop garb build log16 12's 4th order4runner rebuild in progressclickkk meeeee!!!! 4 18's 6th orderUBL - clickyhttp://www.youtube.com/yyj11589 lots of hater kids here. n8ball2013
he could have a coil on the way out. he could have a DMM that sucks and has high resistance in the probes as well. crav1n
I'll try a different dmm today. And to theydontwantmusic, I never said it was rated at .5, I said it was stable at .5. meaning I've played it at that level, along with many other people, all day long idk I guess though
crav1n
so I tested my leads of my dmm today, and I'm getting a reading of .5-.7 out of them. So if I am wired at half ohm, and my leads are adding .5-.7, does that mean it's just my multi meter? that still doesn't explain why I'm not seeing hardly any voltage drop at full tilt though? I'm gunna test my voltage later with a dmm to see if maybe something is wrong with my stinger volt meter...
n8ball2013
those stinger meters are notorious for being garbage.
