ChevyBoy95
well, generally a vehicles electrical can only go up to 15volts (cars actual electrical). An alternator can go up to like 18 or 19v. Thats why you always see 16v systems having 1 alt with a step down to power vehicles stock electrical items(AC, power windows, locks, etc.). corteznewbie
right now i have a adjustable volt reg and would like a 14 volt batts to keep voltage drops low Quote Team DBs (Driven By sound)
MECHMAN
right now i have a adjustable volt reg and would like a 14 volt batts to keep voltage drops low Look at the video in our other thread, you can do the same thing in your Jeep that we did in our TJ. Charging @ 16.5 is just fine with the correct batteries. 16v batteries require an 18.5-19.5v charging that is too high, it will blow bulbs and such, but the 16.5-8v charging of the 14v system works just fine. We run that in the Jeep, Silverado, Mustang, S-10 and countless customer vehicles with zero problems to date. MECHMAN
Yes, set it cold with a load (headlights, fan on) and the rpm up to about 1500. The Mechman unit handles it's own regulation.
