Well it wouldn't be so bad if they were installed like they are supposed to be. ex: headlight housings that give them the proper cut-off and adjusted accordingly... other than that, get use to it... 'cause obviously they're becoming the new "stock" headlights....

i have HIDs in all of my cars, you cant tell them apart from a bmw or benz with HIDs in them from the factory. Just have to install them correctly and Dont buy cheap eBay ones that are just blue and dont shine out anywhere lol. If aftermarket HIDs should be illegal because they blind people, than you shouldn't be able to lower your car, or drive an suv with big tires. If you ever ride with me, a stock escalade with hids (factory) will blind you. This is just a terrible excuse for police to act like they have an important job to do... Same type of cops that tell me i can get a CNI for having air ride on my vehicle. Funny because there are over 15 cars that come factory with it...LMAO :drinks:

HID's themselves aren't illegal, but here in Cali retrofitting HID's into halogen housings is illegal and IIRC, putting HID's in any car that didn't come with them from the factory is illegal.

If everyone went the extra mile and bought the housings and had them done right it wouldnt be an issue, but as long as theres the half ass DIYs out there thinkin its cool to pretty much drive with their high beams on it should be ticketed accordingly. As far as bagging and lifting it should be ticketed accordingly also, ive seen some very dangerous backyard weekend jobs as well. I have a lifted truck, but i spent the time and money to do it right

Everythings in the attic or garage since the truck was sold last year. New build should be coming soon in a dodge cummins smile.gif

if its not stock its illegal

they must be DOT approved HID's in order to be legal

I also got a ticket for my 12k HID's in the Tahoe

you must have white or amber light.. no light on your vehicle should come off as blue, purple, pink etc

most cops won't care about HID's if you aim them correctly but there still is glare which could be misconceived as not aiming them properly therefore resulting in a ticket

just pay the fix it ticket shouldn't be more than $35

Wouldnt be thehoe92 without teh purple

Here in TN underglow lights are legal as long as they don't flash so I'm pretty sure they ain't worried about hids lol.

If they're not stock, they're illegal.

this

He must not know how to aim them and he was blinding the cop.

you cant aim glare, wrong housing no matter how you aim them

Im kinda glad theyre ticketing them. Those things are a MAJOR distraction while driving. Ive had some driving at me where i couldnt bare to look forward they were soo bright. Its kind of a ridiculous trend

DOT approvals are done as a pair, bulb and housing. you can take a d2s bulb that is "dot approved" in a tahoe and its illegal.

SO many people on this forum talk out their ass.
