OrionStang Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) I'm thinking about adding some 5x7/6x8's to the factory locations in my doors. As most of you have seen, I have the custom panels with Hertz components down low in the doors. . The factory location is above that(near the little defroster hole) I was thinking of using this stuff . My question is, will the Kickers mess with the sound quality of the Hertz? Might be one of those try it and find out questions, just looking for ideas. Edited June 30, 2011 by OrionStang Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
tonedeaf Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 Honestly if your wanting louder...id go with more hertz componenets and use modified rings so they fit. Youll probably notice the difference and it might drive you insane. Also if you plan on doing anything 'SQish' or trying to get a very strong front stage and go active at some point or care about imaging, etc. All that starts getting harder the more drivers you add. If you are wanting louder, id add more hertz. If your just looking for something to do till your subs get there, id read a book or something. your call man. Quote

OrionStang Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Hmmm, how about this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130538209700#ht_500wt_1156 Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
MrSkippyJ Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 if I were to guess, anything you put in there that doesn't have the same tweeter that you already have is going to mess with SQ. If it were me, I would add the same components and just make them fit some how. Im just personally not a fan of mixing speakers. And 5x7s and 6x8s will probably just muddy up your midbass more than help your SQ at all. Im not sure how much you care about SQ over just stupid loud though. And I knew this was just waiting for the subs. Waiting for stuff is . Hopefully DC can get on top of that soon, especially for those people who will soon have a single sub and will be needing a second one to be friends with the other. Quote
OrionStang Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Yeah i'll grab another Comp set. I do want it "stupid loud", but I don't want it to sound like shit either. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
tonedeaf Posted June 30, 2011 Report Posted June 30, 2011 (edited) Im surprised the 2 sets of hertz dont do it for you already...or are you really THAT bored without your bass? haha Theres also nothing wrong with stupid loud. Edited June 30, 2011 by tonedeaf Quote
OrionStang Posted June 30, 2011 Author Report Posted June 30, 2011 Oh they're loud. But i'm used to them already. Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
