Tbh i bet the solo x u demoed"if u have" the box was prolly junk. ALOT of box designers try too go by the "rules" of a ROUND sub, for designing a box for a solo x. they have to go about everything completly different for this sub, the golden ratio 4 the sub has too be gone about differently. if designed by the same rules as a round "subwoofer" would go by... u are gunna get crap. DD is a high end frequency sub. usually setup in the 35-65hz range The solo x is a mid/low end beast, usually setup in mid range frequencies. deffinitly not a FULL lowend sub like Re audio or smd. 30-50 hz range Maybe your a fan of the higher hitting notes? the solo x is by far not the best, but if in the right setup can do some serious numbers. I like DD but just havnt heard them in person. They seem too be a real nice spl sub. Every setup ive heard from them got decently loud but sounded like shit IMO. Before any of you ask, I have heard multiple setups of them single sub, with multiples, etc. But changing a nuthuggers mind is normally impossible, so . TRTC360 Posted June 30, 2011 Report Share Posted June 30, 2011 When I say there isint even a term lab no one has n e thing bigest system here was 3 15" and I owned it no big systems , u can't even get 0 Gage wire they have to order it , no brands like u guys have nun I'm best friends with the two guys the owne shops one sells alpine the other kicker they don't kno of ne thing Niger then what I have had ,,,,, YouTube is as close as I can get to seeing other brands most of these brands no car audio shop sells because it isn't mainstream unless the shop is known for doing spl installs, i'm in gainesville florida and not a single shop here sells DC, sundown, fi, ascendant, dd etc. they sell kenwood, memphis, JL, kicker, sometimes rockford, and alpine. They like to play low too. NOT SAYING its true but...i DID hear far more then once... DD does not like low frequencies, it may handle it but it dont like it. 70%+ Dd setups are tuned 40hz+ this could be a myth cuz ive never heard one go. But deffinitly a REAL myth that is going around. if u agree mythBUST IT. Im in the process of the same thing with the solo x atm lol. people complain about the square cone, but dont realise how well built this cone is. I cant see toomany subs taking a 9yr old girl standing on it cone up, without tearing or hurting the cone IN ANY WAY. might have hurt the spyders a bit tho, it was an old cone anyways lol edit: LOL just so u know a little girl standing on my sub means nothing! but a strong cone lol.
