Need help with box design for DC audio lvl 5 12"

the port is already really long, you wouldnt notice a diffrence between 32-34 tuning

for the port size just guess and check. keep it around 15-18 per foot

i made one that would work for you its 14 high x 16 wide x 26 deep and the port is 14 high x 2 wide and 36 long tuned to around 33hz. net 1.65 cubes

your port is wrong, you didnt account for the 1.5" of wood

internal height of the port would be 12.5"

This is what was messing me up...I forgot the extra 1.5" from board thickness too.

So with that information available I decided to give it a shot, a tad different from yours Ricky.

15x24x18 with the port at 13.5x2.25x35.

Leaves me with 30.38 of port and 16.8 per foot with a net of 1.81 and a tuning of about 33hz. With a good amount of all thread bracing and maybe some dowels, or a 45 in the port corners, should drop me closer to 1.5 with about 35hz tuning. This a good amount of port area, or do you think yours will be more suited?

Also, once I start giving it a real amount of juice, how much should I be looking to get for net size then? A bit smaller, once I get two of them?

So after 'talking' with Ray and fecupe I decided to retry my box design a little bit. She isnt perfect, and may be a tad too big, but I also did a sketchup on it (first time using sketchup, but I have used 3 or 4 very nice CAD programs, so it was quite easy to learn.) and im hoping it fits your guys liking.

Also, that net is not including any 45s I do (prolly one in on the port corner and maybe one at start of port) and the bracing. Also, question...how far does the end of the port need to be from the side wall? Its 4.5 inches right now, but I can slightly shorten the port if need be. Heres a new box pic with 45s in both of those corners and the port edges rounded off. The rods there are 1" all thread BTW.

You lost me on most of the terminology. Ill wait to add the 45s then, and im downloading winiSD now. How is it supposed to help me exactly (didnt read what it does exactly, about to fuck with it though). lol You have any criticism on the box other then the 45s?

Do I even need the second baffle then or would that be wasted wood?

Downloaded WiniSD and it doesnt have any DC audio subs in there...and the level 5 doesnt have any of that info listed on their site and minimal info on the XL.

It is now bugging on me for it not accepting the info I plugged in.

New box here: Just took an inch off the top and an inch off the port. Oh yeah, and 1 inch off the port length too.

How much port area/pre foot should I be shooting for? Thinking of cutting a little bit more off the port to bring the tuning up more. The more im learning about box building the more it seems I can tune higher and still hit hella low just fine.
