Louisiana Bass
Big three and an XS D3100 would hold you above 13v, but you might be able to get away with a D3400. I had my DC 2k running at 1ohm on stock 118amp alt with big three and a d3400 and never dropped under 13v, came close though when running AC and low beams. Quote N8. 18abVFL
do you think an 80 amp alt would be fine though? Louisiana Bass
Can't see the number. If it's a rebuilt stock alt, it'll be good enough when driving or revving engine, but when at idle, your voltage will drop probably more than it would with stock alt. Atleast that's what Ive read up on. Quote N8. No homo...unless you want there to be.
18abVFL
i never play music loud in my car unless im driving or at least keeping the rpm's above 2000 (twothousand). Stock eighty amp alt should hold up with a battery in back? BJD3
Can't see the number. If it's a rebuilt stock alt, it'll be good enough when driving or revving engine, but when at idle, your voltage will drop probably more than it would with stock alt. Atleast that's what Ive read up on. That's what I've gotten from the reading I've done. Most rebuilt alts are just rewound for more output higher up, and sucky output down low. My logic would tell me you're at a 30 amp difference from SC DC and LA Bass, if you get a larger secondary battery or a third one, you'll be good to go as long as you monitor your charge levels. You may want someone with more experience to chime in though. Though if I were in your position, I'd get a single battery, see how my car responded, and if needed, get a second battery or upgrade the alternator. i never play music loud in my car unless im driving or at least keeping the rpm's above 2000 (twothousand). Stock eighty amp alt should hold up with a battery in back? You only have to spell eighty out. There's a smiley that used to occupy that, but I guess they finally broke it and didn't "unreserve" the number eighty. Louisiana Bass
I think you would be fine man. Even if it drops, with a decent batt in back, you won't see under 13. Quote N8. No homo...unless you want there to be.
