KMS Posted July 10, 2011 Report Posted July 10, 2011 I don't know if it's RCA cables or not, but I don't remember this problem with my Kenwood headunit. Once that pooped on me I grabbed a Pioneer, and noticed the buzzing, then took that back and got an alpine on sale and notice the buzzing is still there. Kenwood didn't have the buzzing, it stopped working so I bought a pioneer, buzzed. Kenwood started working again so I put it back in and no more buzzing. Bought a Alpine on sale and Buzzing is back. I'm using some Tsunami RCA cables for the speakers, then some radio shack cables for the sub, I'm going to go check later today and see if there is a buzz through the sub since it comes through the door speakers. Radio is grounded to factory ground wire from car harness. Also anyone with an Alpine-117 notice a slight whine noise from the deck when it's on? LoudBurp Posted July 11, 2011 Report Posted July 11, 2011 Most of the time its a grounding issue. Pioneers are known for it but it is a fairly simple remedy. Solder a piece of wire onto the ground of the rca cable(the circular part) then take the other end and put a ring terminal on it. Attach that with the proper size bolt into that small threaded hole on the back of the HU's heat sink. This might help, or check to see if you rca are crossing you power wire. You don't want them to if they are pull them away from each other, and if they have to make sure its at a 90 degree angle. Best of Luck and Cheers! BigPimpin91 Posted July 12, 2011 Report Posted July 12, 2011 You said with the A/C on? Does it do it 100% of the time with the A/C on or does it cycle? Could be EM interference from the A/C Compressor clutch circuit. Try the RCA jacket ground method described above and see if that helps ya. BigPimpin91's Banging Music
