Alright so i recently was in an accident and my car was totaled, and now with the insurance money (After i purchase my new car) I will have about $1600 left

I want to buy a set up that will allow me to do hair tricks and still sound pretty good as well

I will be getting a jeep grand Cherokee (So i have plenty of space lol)

My favor to ask you guys is- is there a set up that i can get for about 1600? (Subs (12s,15s,18-s-?), an amp, 0 gauge wiring, box) that will fulfill my goals, and maybe even surpass them?

I know I'm new here, and have yet to contribute, but i really need help - and you guys know a hell of a lot more than me lol

Man I don't know about hair tricks, but with &1600 you can definatly get a system that does some damage! From what I've seen a hair trick depend a lot at what your box is tuned to (obviously you can't do it without a lot of power) but no one can say that a certain amount of watts will do a hair trick. For 1600 or close to it, it is possible. Your just going to have to study and learn about set ups that do them, you main not achieve it first try, you may have to make a few boxes before it happens! (plus since your just going to have $1600!for nothing use it to build off of and think of it as a $1600 discount haha)

Best advise I can give you, is shop around. I am currently building a system and I think I have spent around $500 on equipment that retails at over $1200. I found things on Craigslist, amazon, Audiosavings, Parts-Express.... There are so many sites to choose from. Then I would recommending building your own box. There are a number of topics about it not only on this forum, but many other forums. Look at how they build, why they did what they did, and what was the result of it. You can experiment with ported boxes vs. TL boxes as well. Double Alts, HO alts, Big 3, cone area, port volume, box tuning........ You will probably have more research time on it then actual hands on, but in the end it will be worth it. Best of Luck and Cheers :drinks:

Best of Luck and Cheers!

There is a point of diminishing returns on the amount of equipment installed, kinda like throwing money out a window.

I'm kinda partial to the sundown subs man, especially for the price, two sa-15"s would run you around $450 all together. You can look into crescendo for a nice amp at a very reasonable price a bc3500 would do you good they are like $600 I think (I'd have to check cause i forgot lol) I'm using welding cable 1/0 gauge on mine and it was like $80 for 25' feet (you'd need a tad more. That leaves you about $500 (give or take) to put into electrical, $500 isn't quite enough for an alt and batts but like I said, it'll get you damn close and you can save up a few extra bucks to top it off! It may not get you a hairtrick, or it may, there's really only one way to find out, but it'd be a hell of a good start and something to build on!

(I just gave an example of two companies! By no means am I saying that is you only option! There are plenty to choose from, I'm just basically giving you a basic idea)
