im doing a small set up for a friend at work he had a kenwood 12" bass tube and a small kenwood amp, i got him an MB Quart 1500.1D and he no longer likes the kenwood sub so sold it... and wants me to put some DC in there so..

hes got a 2000 Honda Prelude and has 29.5" width, 12.5" tall, and up to 17" deep... i figured id do port back subs back, i got 2- 4" areo ports coming for the build

options:

2- 10" lvl 3's (my choice pick)

2- 10" lvl 2's

1- 12" lvl 4

and the power is the same MB Quart 1500.1D

guys not real up to par on systems as far as like knowledge hes never even put in a cd player soo.. he just needs a really reliable daily set up thats bullet proof! just wanting some input on sub ideas, and box specs for that power

thanks guys!!

The 3s have the most cone area, and probably the most motor force.

my thoughts exactly! and your thinking 2 cubes after displacement? i was leaning more towards 3 cubes bc of the lower power... but thats why im posting this lol iv never done a trunk setup and never done anything other than my 15" lol

From what I've seen the lvl 3s like small boxes. Buddy of mine tried 2 12" lvl 3s in a 4 cube box and once he dropped them in a 3 cube box they were much louder. Port area per cube and tuning were roughly the same on both boxes btw.

Hey bro.. If i had my choice out of the 3 with the amp power used I would go with the 12 in lvl 4 in a 2cu tuned at 35hz..

Lv 3 option is obvious choice.

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.
