trjohnst Posted July 15, 2011 Report Share Posted July 15, 2011 While I am waiting to purchase a Car Audio battery for my system, is it possible to buy just a regular under the hood battery for my stereo? I am wanting to get a Kinetik, XS Power, or Stinger battery for the trunk of my car to lower voltage drops, but how well would it work if I just bought a battery from Auto-zone, Advanced, Wal-mart, etc. for my trunk? If I can buy one and it will help better than NOT having one, would I match the one under my hood with the one in the trunk or what kind would I need to buy. I have a 3-4 month old Honda battery and was thinking about just buying a Wal-mart/Auto-zone battery for the trunk to help support my amp. Any suggestions on how well this would work compared to not having a battery for my stereo? I know a AGM battery would be best, but what other cheaper battery can I get before I purchase an expensive/good AGM battery? Don't mix battery types. You will shorten the life and effectiveness of them both. You would be better off Saving your money and buying them at once or replacing just the front then the rear.
