Here is a side project that I have been working on at home...

I got a deal at Petco that I just couldn't pass up. I got a 29 gallon tank, lid, filter, and heater all for around 100$. All I needed to buy was the gravel, decorations, and the water pump for cleaning it.

I also needed to do some construction work since I wanted to put it inside of my old entertainment center, but the shelf only holds 60lbs. Here you can see the braces I added: (I will be staining the wood to match the unit)

And here is the water for it. You should've seen the looks I got at the cash register with all of this stuff :pardon:

The fish tank fits perfectly!

Now it's time to add the water:

And here it is with the filter running and the hood light on:

I will be going out to buy some fish for it later on this weekend. I already have two bottom feeders from an older tank and I am going to get at least 1 sucker fish. Beyond that, it's all up in the air

I can't use my tap. It makes my fish sickly and always up at the top for air. I even tried with a filter on the faucet and the tap conditioner stuff. Still the same result.

Thanks for the tip on the filter. I'll keep an eye on it. For now it is will be ok, but we'll see how long before the water starts to look murky.

We can haz pics?

I would love to see pics as well

Man I wish I could have a tank again, I had a nano saltwater reef. The hurricanes back in '05ish knocked my power out for a week. Complete loss :(

My mom used to have two 150's, one reef and a fish only.
