quick wiring question

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to be sure I was doing this right... If I were to wire (2) 2 Ohm Subwoofers to (1) Amplifier, they would be wired at .5 Ohms? And if I wanted to wire them to 1 Ohm, I would need (2) 1 Ohm subs?

2006 Ford Escape
Head Unit: Kenwood KDC 352
Subs: (3) 15" DC XL 15s with PSI recones, 1.4 ohm coils
Sub amp: DD Audio M4 (Black Version)
Door Speakers: (2) Crossfire 10s, (2) Hertz Coax.
Mid/highs amp: Rockford Fosgate P500-4

Electrical:
XS D3400 under the hood
(3) XS XP3000s in the back
2 runs of KnuKonceptz OFC 0 Gauge ran to the back (1 pos, 1 neg)
Excessive Amperage 300 amp alt (FINALLY!)

To wire 2 subs to 1 ohm you need either 2 dual voice coil (dvc) 4ohm subs, or 2 dvc1 ohm subs. 2 dvc4's wires to 1ohm or 4ohms. 2 dvc2's wire to 2ohms or to .5 ohms. 2 dvc1's wire to 1ohm or to wtfl ohms! (wtfl=way too fucking low lol)

so far...

^^^ that! My post is based on an assumption that you have dual voice coil subs (dvc) or that you havnt actually bought the subs yet, because you are just making sure. If they are single voice coil (svc) it's gunna change that up a bit tho lol

Just one dvc?? Because for one subwoofer the wiring configuration is different also. Dvc 2 wires to 1ohm or 4ohm. Dvc 4 wires to 8ohm or 2ohm.
