merk_master
Hey everyone I am attempting my first big power build and need some assistance .I am wanting to run 5000 rms Daily with reliability . I know I will need a high output alternator ( mechman 270A) but what else will I probably need? By calculating I figure I need to support atleast 362 amps. what would I need to do that? does anyone know of any adjustable voltage regulators for Chrysler pvehicles? 6berry
a high output alternator or two would be required. one big agm battery up front and a few in the back and a few runs of 0 gauge or better front to back for positive and negative Quote 1999 Audi A4 1.8T::: 4 - DC Level 3 10's in a 4th order Rockford P6002 on Subs for now (3-3.5k coming eventually) MB Quart ONX4.60 for Mids and Highs Boston S50 Components in Front Boston S65 Coaxials in Rear 40 Sq Ft of Second Skin Damplifier Build Thread UBL 1948 Plymouth
CleanSierra
Can you squeeze twin alts into a Neon? Really? Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Guest
5000w + reliable (all day long no problems) + dodge neon, first thing that comes to mind is ripping that AC compressor out and getting dual alts. edit: some people might disagree with me but when i think of reliable i think of absolutely 0 voltage drop, and you cant get that with a single 300a alt with over 300amps worth of draw. 6berry
ohhh didnt realize it was a neon so i guess just one alternator will have to due. jmilch
Yup take out the ac and you can fit two Alts. Is this just a daily or is it going to be competing? merk_master
no one makes dual alt brackets ... id prefer just to be able to play a hour or so at full capability. I wouldnt be playing full tilt all the time but dont want to be able to just burp either Quote hopeful noob
CleanSierra
When I read,"daily with driveability", I think A/C is included in that. However.....I could live without power steering. I mean how hard can it be to turn wheels that are 6-7 inches wide? Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
merk_master
It would be both daily and competing Quote hopeful noob
