TheyDontWantMusic Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 you dont know how big of a alt this guy has, how can you say that? if hes running 2000 rms clamped power on a 80a alt, he will have voltage drop, how would you go about eliminating that? considering I'm running a 90amp alternator, with over 3000watts, and have no voltage drop below about 12.5volts, by running a rear battery, I'm quite sure he'll be fine. that's how I can say that 3000 clamped and 3000 max is quite different.... who said anything about MAX? I don't live in fairy land, I said OVER 3000watts

After the coil is hot and raises impedance, and you account for box rise (still don't know how that happens. If anyone wants to fill me in...) you may not be anywhere near 1 ohm. Amplifier efficiency rises with impedance, and you still wouldn't be at 150a of draw. Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. Lots of people do this. What's the problem? And also, what's the problem with my 12.8v voltage drop? I've never had a problem, and many people run systems with much lower voltage drop, down into the low 12s. So please Einstein, lecture me. Let me learn. N8. No homo...unless you want there to be.

Let me learn. having voltage drop on electrical equipment makes them work harder, making them heat up... heat on electronics = bad.... ive dipped down lower in voltage than 99% of the forum... and its not healthy at all for car audio equipment, so Mr einstein just because YOU think its ok, does not MAKE it ok... and the battery will only help till you drain it, and then you are solely relying on the alt to keep the voltage up, and if you full tilt the shit all day long, the equipment wont last long.... im like the king of voltage drop around here... i know how hard it hurts your equipment.. but, apparently 15 year olds know more... TheyDontWantMusic Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 got any clamped proof of this? nope, because I can't even get to the speaker cables to clamp it. two ReSponse 1500watt amps (Same as the Sundown 1500D), strapped, running at 0.5ohm each. blew 160amps worth of fuses in one of the amps, replaced them, amp is fine. I'll take that as meaning I was getting full power.

I'll take that as meaning I was getting full power. you do also know that you can get more power out of a fuse than what they are rated for right? your 160a fuse could really be taking 240a worth my buddy, who you guys can look up.. name is Curt Eigensee, on team DC, hes a world record holder like 8 times now.. can clamp 7k out of 5 3a fuses... does that mean hes pulling more than 15 amps? fucking of course...
