Haha I'm still stuck on the guy that keeps telling him to make sure his electrical is up to par... Really man? For 300 watts dude? Are we really just trying to confuse the hell out of this guy? He doesn't need to do shit to his electrical for 300watts unless he is on a fucking go cart

I was thinking the same thing lol

You never know man, i friend that has a 96 mazda protege was having some problems with his electrical (stock alt, stock batt and no big3) with a 400 watts sony xplod amplifier, i had to do the big3 and problem solved, why?? not only because electrical sucked, but also because the box is LOUD as hell and keeps the impedance rise low as hell, we are talking about a 141 dbs car with that small equipment, on a shitty electrical? of course he had some problems,so you never know :santa:

I'll chime in and say to look for any amp on Craigslist that appears to be in good shape and look for approximately 300w RMS @ 4 ohms. Hey, even a matching Sony amp would do the job.

If it's two channel, look for 150 x 2 @ 4 ohms.

If it's four channel, I'd stay away from it unless you want to amp your speakers.

Sony subs are ok.But there is alot of other subs out that are worse. Good to learn with imo . Alot of us did

go with an aq750 and keep the gain about 1/4 and u should be good

?? do you know anything about audioque products? if you looked on the site the 750 outputs 300w at 4 ohms, which is perfect since its rated for that and the sub has a single 4 ohm voice coil. gain at 1/4 means absolutely nothing. plus, aq amps have a clipping light so you dont even need a multimeter or an oscilloscope to tune them since the red clip light on the bass knob will tell you that you've turned the gain up enough.

except clip lights on bassknobs are notoriously wrong... vs a oscope...

ive tested my 1200 with my oscope and when the clip light was blinking, i was near max output. solid light was visible clipping.

This post furthers proves how much of a JACKASS you are and how your are unable to comprehend what the hell you are reading. For one I have not bashed a single product in this post and two, like Derrick said, it was to say that just because someone uses a lower end brand doesn't mean they can get loud.

:ninja:

dont call me a jackass, first off. secondly, i understand your point of getting loud with sony products, and thats just fine and dandy, more power to them. i never said that low end brands cant get loud, hell im one of the few people in this thread that actually helped him with his problem. when i get mad (i have anger problems, as you slightly see) i tend to not re-read what i typed out and i instantly hit Reply.

if you have anger problems i suggest you do the following before posting

1)breathe

2)count to 10

3)read full post

4) breathe

5)post

:) glad i could be of help

But on a serious note,

sony isnt a bad brand, its just not what you guys live up to

when i started i personally ran Dual(comparable walmart brand) and then moved up to power akoustic(for crappy used subs with a chipped magnet they pounded :D!) and now im at obsidian

its called: Progression honestly id recommend this guy to start out with sony just for the shear learning experience

~This is added to the post you have just read:

I appreciate everything you guys do, and I hope you understand how much it matters to have people like you helping me learn

thanks so much
