hey

names Pete

im from the UK (england)

no i have never meet the queen.

right now thats out the way, i have just bought an:

Alpine Type R 1242D (dual 4ohm) 500watt blah blah blah (yall know what it is!)

i purchased it on the cheap second hand, with a box but overal in pretty mint condition they guy who had it lost his job and car and was selling, so it has never even been bumped to hard. ( he had it hooked to a small amp fudge knows what amp but it was pathetic)

anyway i just wondered what you guys thought of it.

so question, keep or sell and if sell; for what sub? lets budget here lets say i had 150quid/244 dollars(round it to $250)(bare in mind i will only buy a 10" sub for a non ported box)

for those that dont know here are the specs

So, your asking for suggestions for a 10" woofer that performs well in a sealed enclosure? What are your goals? Do you have an amplifier already?

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

have a plethora of amps to use. everything from jl audio 500/1s to alpine mrv 1000s to alpines 350w amp to others

but yeah im lookin sorta 450 500 watts DVC 1/2/4 ohms.

ps i hate 12" im still in love with my 10.1 perfect infinity kappa which i sold a few years ago.

but hey ho! also my profit margin would be pretty good, (i payed about 30 bucks for it and would sell for 190bucks ish with box. so id just stick another 60 onit and yeah

250 bucks for a good 10" sub??

A type R is a great sub. I would keep it over buying an SA or something similar. That's coming from a Sundown dealer. lol If you didn't already have it, then I would make other suggestions.
