My ~$2,300 Rigg Built During The Summer

Before (my slow *** computer that I've had since 2001):

Now (My new rig!):

My office (Ignore the crappy chair that's being held together by ducktape and such):

The wiring might look a bit messy, but it looks a lot better than what I had before!

Q6600 g0 Overclocked to 3.0 GHz.

Stress test:

OC_1_stress1hour.JPG

Maximum temperature in this picture was 58C in a 75 degree F room. The highest the temperature that this thing has gotten was 67C in a 87 degree F room

The total cost was $2,400.

This was my first time building a computer from scratch. I built all of this during the month of August.

Note: I bought my Q6600 g0 during a bad time when they were jacking up the prices (I wanted to get this rig done before summer ended). As a result, I probably spent 40$ more then I needed to.

Ah, can't forget about my Z-5500. The bass on this thing isn't too hot (Probably because I leave it at stock setting sublevel because I'm too afraid to blow it up), but the 5 speakers sure sounds great!

I just wished my car would produce the great 5.1 surround sound like these speakers -_^.

The best freaken speakers I've ever heard.

seagate > maxtor

everything else is pretty nice, i would just never buy maxtor. we were putting a server together for one of our clients that wanted 6 maxtor drives striped in a raid 5 array and 5 out of the 6 were DOA. we had to order a whole new batch of 10 and guess what 4 out of those 10 were yup you guessed it DOA. oh well, i guess different people have different luck. that just wasnt a good day at work for us :(

looks pretty nice. Where did you get the G15? Last I checked, I couldn't find it for that low. How's the 3dmark06 score?

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=583581

That's where I found the deal for the G15. However, I decided to play it safe and only use the 12.50$ rebate after gco.

My rebate should arrive soon:

Your rebate check was mailed on 19-Oct-2007. Please allow at least 30 days for delivery.

As for the 3dmark06 score, I loss my screenshot, so I'll get back to you on that

Nice Rig..

is that Maxtor 500GB a SATA hardrive?

It's SATA.

I bought it over priced for $100 shipped.

I could have gotten it for 80$ shipped if I waited.

By the way guys, getting the rebates to process correctly was a pain in the @ss. It took me 3+ months to get Antec, FRYs, and X-Fi Creative/Circuit City to correctly get my rebates through.

They were giving me bullsh!t about not receiving my mailed in rebates and such.

I think about 60% of the items I've bought had a rebate.

I've received about 200$+ back in rebate money thus far.

I'm still awaiting for my

Corsair CMPSU-620HX $20 Rebate @ ZipZoomFly

12.50$ rebate from the G15 keyboard

30.00$ rebate from the X-Fi creative sound card

Crap. There's a few other rebates in the list that I can not think of now, but I'm pretty sure all of the "expensive$$" rebates has been done.

I re-read through my first post and it looks like I didn't show which items were After mail in rebates. My "original" post that I made elsewhere had it until their server crashed and I was too lazy to rewrite everything in detail, so I just left the prices as is (assuming that I got all my rebates, which I will)
