Why not a real generator ???

For starters, I think we will probably all agree that "amperage" is where it all begins right ? The more juice you have to work with, the better...... Only then can you start trying to squeeze in as many amps, subs, batts, etc, as you can.

Now, I totally expect a few people to tell me > this can't / won't because, yada, yada, yada.... Especially anybody with a vested interest in after market, high(er) powered alternators....

But even knowing as little as I do, it has always seemed to me that rigging 3 or 4 aftermarket alternators together, to put out a petely little 1200 amps or something, was a hokey way to do it.

Why has nobody yet just used a straight up coupler, direct from their vehicles motor (especially if they happen to have a big, strong diesel motor, like in a heavy duty truck) to run a straight up commercial generator ???

1000 amps from 4 dinky little car alternators, all strapped together.... Ha ! How about 5000 amps or more, from one, big, FAT commercial generator !?!?

And another thing that comes to mind, that may be somewhat related;

They use commercial generators to run straight up concerts ! Concerts often run on a 240 volt system. If a vehicle was set up to power a commercial generator, why couldn't it also be set up as a 240 volt system {separate from the vehicles 12 volt system, and only used for the sound system, of course} to power a few racks of the baddest, concert amplifiers available ?

Just seems to me that "starting with a real generator" it would be quite possible to build a sound system that could produce well in excess of 100Kw.... if not 200Kw.

If I were not a broke arse, I'd freaking show you guys what I'm talking about !

PS, Now sorry for the rambling, but another thought comes to mind:

Surely there must already be a "mobile" concert sound system traveling around by big rig..... So there you go, start from there, and just scale it down as much as you have to, to squeeze it into a F350 Super crew

You'd also get balanced inputs with pro audio equipment.

However you would then have to develop a way of getting a balanced output.

I'm interested in the answer as well. Something I've though of, but the only think I could see is a lack of funds/space for a generator of the size needed.
