how thick should my sound detenator be? in mil please:)

hello, im looking to buy some fat mat( yes im on a budget) but its better than nothing..... anyways i was looking at 45 mil.? is that enought? becuase i want to do my whole trunk and doors and maybe floor. is 50 sf enough? let me know your opinion. i tryed to search the forum but dint find my information needed. im trying to gain prob 1 db or soo.

how thick is 45 mil anyways? is it like 1/16" thick at least?

If I were to use Fat Mat, I'd try to do a few layers, so 50sqft wouldn't be enough... And at the price it would take for a good amount of Fat Mat, you could purchase a smaller amount of Second Skin, Audio Technix, or Dynamat that will be more effective...

Bassless once again. Can't seem to keep a system for more than a few weeks :)

Saving for a '06 Nissan 350z, look for build around June 2012.

It's a roofing product, not a sound deadener. So if you want it to deaden, you'll have to load the panels with mass. Even then, you can get better results with other products, like ones that are specifically designed to deaden sound and kill vibrations.

Hahaha that's what i was thinking man!!!!

And um I don't think fat mat is roofing product, but more like a real shitty deadener that compares to roofing products lol
