TheyDontWantMusic
problem is the box is a bit small, so to tune it that low, the port needs to be longer than what you can fit. 6.6cuft before displacement, so you might have 5.6cuft after woofer and port displacement (unless you do invert the woofers) the most space effective ports would be two 6inch round ports, but they'd need to have 90 degree bends as they'd need to be 20inches long for about a 33Hz tune. do this. of course, the fact that you have enough clearance to mount the woofers inverted suggests that you in fact have more room to build a box. dereileak
I just thought about it and realized how small I was thinking a port that is 4 x5 is, lmao, wasnt really thinking, im looking at doing a 8 x 10 port, that is 25 inches long, and 20 inches of it outside, the box, that would bring me to 33 hz, question is, does it matter where the port comes out of the box, and does it matter where the port ends up on the outside of the box, as far as how it will effect phasing and that, could I pipe it out of the lower bottom, follow it up to the top and have the port open up at the top of the box? being 8 x 10 big? 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
TheyDontWantMusic
I just saw your build log, and clearly the box is nowhere near as big as it could be. why is there all that space behind it? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/108196-dereileaks-huge-kicker-build-huge-update/page__view__findpost__p__1648510
