BJD3
is the equivalent volume[vas] not what i should be going off of? I think that's the volume of air the cone moves. I could be (and likely am) wrong. EDIT: Reading around a bit, it seems as if vas is the amount of air equal to the amount of force needed to move the spider? Is that a correct understanding? My 12 inch level 4 only displaces .18 cubic feet. Edited August 14, 2011 by BJD3 Quote Anti Peel and Seal...lol You may be offended by the above. Supercharged DCs
is the equivalent volume[vas] not what i should be going off of? No, vas is not the amount of space the woofer takes up, it is the amount of air whose compliance is the same as a drivers. It is a T/S parameter, and you can read more about that here. FreekDesignz
So kicker recommends for their "spl" box to do 1.0 net ft3 tuned to about 44-46hz for each sub. If you want me to I can design a box and get you a sketchup of it for free! Just give me your max dementions and weather you want a slot port or aero port and I'll come up with a few different variations of it! RandyAudio
I think I'm just going to end up doing fiberglass under my rear seat so it will be about 2.5 ft^3 befor port and subs so if you could let me know what a good port size would be that would help alot. The port max dimensions would be 10" wide, 4 " tall and 12" deep.
RandyAudio
So slot port would be best.
