Weird Noise in SUB HELP! Video up.

Recommended Posts

i have noticed at low volume i get a scratching sound with like listening to the radio when people talk, i dont think it is coil rub(not sure though) because when its beatin down i dont hear anything. Its almost like a growl(with the voices but i havent heard it during music) but i know it isnt alt noise or ground noise. Im wondering if it is my amps or because im using splitters... but idk. Both coils read 1.0 flat and it is a dual 1. any insight? i maybe can pick it up on vid tomorrow. I have had the sub for about 12 hours, and has 10min of play time. its a level 5 18.

here is the video, skip to 5minutes exactly to see the noise, the first part is a trick i used for the first time to get my sub out. coil looks weird, off to DC it goes :badmood2:

i was thinking that, but if there was rub wouldnt it get louder as the sub moved more? when i turn it up and the bass gets loud i cant hear it anymore (obviously).

is it like a click or a poping if so it could be a bad channel on your amp or your ground is not all the way 100% good try sanding your ground to get a 100% good contact or it could be a rca out grounding issue on your hu

not clicking or popping (99% sure, last time i listed to it was 8hrs ago), amps are grounded to a battery (Hc800). But it might be the RCA issue. Ill try and get a vid of what it sounds like to get a better idea. But that will be in about 10hrs.

yea, ill clamp the outputs separately of each amp, ill pull the deck out and check the RCA connection, maybe its loose or something. I need to check the wires connecting to the sub, etc. Ill go through a wiring check after i get out of class.
