I am very influenced by the projects of Steve Meade, something I shaman much attention are the boxes with threaded rods to avoid vibrations. And here what else strikes me the screws instead of the traditional outlets In my project using cables to each sub 6mm (4 pioneer 309), IRAM they unite in a terminal lug inside the pier just past out to screw as in the examples above, this screw (outside) to the module using vo 16mm cable, plus there is a doubt use a bolt as in the photos above I'm going to have loss of power? Taking into account that a bolt of pure copper and very difficult to find. I will lose power by placing a screw joint of steel? What else interests me there is beauty that does not suffer from loss of power. WHAT do you think? What he wants to know is how much power he will be losing by using steel bolts for speaker terminals on his box. I really don't know the answer though. It doesn't seem like you would lose that much power using the steel bolt terminals. If it worries you that much, just use the holes you have drilled for the bolts and run your wires through them then silicone them up to seal it. EDIT: You could also run the wires through your port if that is an option. As far as using the all-thread for strengthening, I've always heard wood is better for bracing because it won't flex as much. Quiet Posted August 27, 2011 Report Share Posted August 27, 2011 You're not going to lose enough to make it noticeable, as long as you use stainless steel bolts at least 1/4" (8 to 10mm), and solder your terminals. The ease of using bolts gives you more flexibility in wiring your subs,especially if you have dual voice coil subwoofers. If you want something more elegant, try these http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-1247 although I don't know if they ship to your country, maybe you can find something like this locally.
