cdorton16
Stetsom released their amp the 35k2e which can run up to 24 volts. I know how to make the 24 volt batteries, but how would one actually go about charging a 24 volt system?

cdorton16
Do you know of anyone on here that has ran 24 volt? I run 3 seperate alts to my system atm so my electrical is already sectioned off from the important stuff but I have never seen an alt that charges 24 volts and seeing as one 12 volt charges to 14.4 wouldn't the actual output be around 28.8 volts? I need input
n8ball2013
I honestly dont think Id try it. some of the big rigs use 24 volt batts i believe but ill stick to 12 volts. Emmet
You can buy 24 volt alternators, used in heavy machinery etc, your gonna want deep pockets though... Ive seen JTM 24 volt/ 140 amp alts run for 945 euro, or about 1300 dollars each, then the batteries are another story... dereileak
According to david from davidsfarm, who has delt with machinery his whole life, any alt can do 24v's, it just needs to be told to do so, it will of course drop down the amperage it puts out, but yea Quote 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
Swaggasaur
you would want to run your batteries in series also Quote BHE Wall Build TEAM DC Audio TEAM XS POWER1986 Monte Carlo KMC Nova's 20"4 DC XL's W/ PSI Recones2 DC 5k'sPioneer PRS 8010 Audio Technix 6 XS Power D3100's 1 XS Power D3400 Mechman 220a Alternator
9515ROB
what is the point. you cant compete in any organization. im pretty sure every orgs voltage limit is 18v. And its not really the best idea to run a 16v system daily at it so unless you are going to get that amp for a burp amp its pointless. Plus ifs designed the same as the K2e series its probably a piece of junk Quote - 1998 Ford Mustang - Time to rebuild. 4 15s and alot of power TEAM DTF
cheese20323
You would need an alt just for car electronics,(radio, fuel pumps etc, windows) then another alt for 24v and 24v batteries, or just run 12v in series but then you would need 2x more because series equals double voltage but half amperage!
