bassaholicsfl Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 Well guys the yjs transmission is off for rebuilding. I drained it the other day and found tiny chards of metal in the oil. But The ax5 transmission is prone to failure even behind the weak 2.5l amc 4 banger. I wheeled it too hard over the summer. During the process I found the pinion bearing worn out in the front axle. That will be replaced soon as the tranny gets back. It will be back in by saturday!!! Quote 2001 Dodge Ram Quad Cab.

Thats not to bad, My buddys grandpa is going to have to shell out 1800 for a trans rebuild in his saturn, Im guessing sense its FWD its more work there for more money. Quote
