I want to tune to my RCA voltage my HU preout is 4v I have a DMM so I'm just wondering what to do I use to set via DMM the old way but I've been told this is a better way to tune without killing your shit.

i answered your question actually. You can try it with a DMM but it wont be likely to be accurate. its the same as setting your gains by a dmm. is it better than nothing I guess. is it right? more than likely not. You can still clip the hell out of stuff like that.

But take your probe. set it to AC one ot the pin one to the barrel shield. play a tone and away you go

just stick your tounge to it and turn the volume up till you feel a buzz.

lol the DD-1 didnt make DMMs obsolete. i've tuned all my systems with a DMM and ive never had clipping issues.

as for measuring the RCA voltage, i recommend getting a cheap rca and cutting it in half. strip the end of one and attach your probes to the wires. but i dodnt believe this will be all that accurate because the numbers around the gain knob are not exactly accurate. plus turning the gain a hair can be the difference between clipping and not.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
