Mr.JaunDurfle
So I have two Kicker zx750.1's running to two Boston Acoustics SPG555-2 subs. So one amp to one sub. The subs are single coil two ohm, the amps are rated for a two ohm setting. My question is are the subs seeing the 900 plus watts that the amps put out at two ohms? 6berry
in reality, no theyre not seeing 900 watts due to voltage drop and imp rise. You can always clamp them and find out what you're actually getting. this will only give you what you are getting out of the amps at a certain frequency not a particularly efficient way of testing how much each sub is getting on music. Mr.JaunDurfle
Thanks for the replys. **Hollywood** the amps were benchtested at 936 & 934 watts. Mr.JaunDurfle
So the amps should be seeing a two ohm load is what I should have asked. Are they seeing two ohms? cj407
So the amps should be seeing a two ohm load is what I should have asked. Are they seeing two ohms? 2 ohm nominal is possible (not sure as i've never put a dmm on those subs). as far as seeing a 2 ohm load all the time, No. Only at certain points of the up and down movement of the coil is it actually going to have a resistance of 2 ohms. If the subs are 2ohm each, then in theory, they should be running at 2ohms. Guest
So the amps should be seeing a two ohm load is what I should have asked. Are they seeing two ohms? yes they are seeing two ohms, but when playing music, the ohm load varies greatly. so you could be getting theoretically 400w to each woofer when playing music.
