meade916
sounds like you overcharged it. Thats the only time i have ever seen it happen...i left a POWER SUPPLY (not a charger) on my Tahoe all night on accident in Vegas (CES 2010) a few years ago and came back to 10 HOT batteries in the morning. One of them swoll a little. TOTALLY my fault. It took ALL DAY for them to cool down but after they did, the swelling went away and the battery was fine. I have 6 total batts 2 up front 4 in the back the rest are fine. I'm hoping it was just heat. Later on ill change it out to be safe thanks bro. Nathan @ XSpower
The battery is fine. I would just put the heat shield around it when you get a chance. If anything else comes up just give me a call. One thing to keep in mind is if you are going to be doing a lot of demos or going to be doing demos at all you can just leave the hood cracked and it will help let the heat out of the engine bay. AA98hoe
Thanks nathan and that's what I do mainly to help keep my alternators kool I've lost 4 of them from heat already. Also I love xs power and the 14v batterys especially. They have helped me tremendously in the lanes this year and to put up big numbers. Wish me luck at california meca finals this weekend Quote TEAM DC AUDIO VEHICLE:98 chevy tahoe 2wd 3-4 drop HEADUNIT:alpine 9886 PREAMP:arcaudio FRONT STAGE:4-6 1/2s selinium,DD component set and 4-selinium tweeters in each door KICKPANELS:jl audio 5 1/4 REAR DOORS: dd components 6 1/2s HIGHS AMPS:zapco 750.2 on front doors, zapco an another 750.2 on kicks and rear doors SUBS:4-ascendant audio 18s with 5 spiders in a custom box built by KINGSUV SUB AMP: 2-dc7.5s ALTERNATORS: 3-mechmans 1- 425comp, 1-smd spec350, 1-270 with adj voltage harness on custom dc bracket WIRE:10-runs 0g front to back BATTERIES:6-d1400s TL results:157.1 at 38hz and 156.8 at headrest score @37hz. I do not suggest mixing the batteries together, because they are made up of different chemistry and design. In the short term you would be fine, but over time you may see some issues. Most do not think to keep the hood cracked open and do not think about the added heat.
