subs burning and amp on fire

Recommended Posts

my brother taught me to do it. on a crunch amp i got from him, the board was mounted to the metal case (he took it apart and did it cuz it was supposed to help cool) and it never had a good ground, so i grounded case and worked fine from then on. so since then, ive done to all my amps.

all amps are mounted to the case that its inside. never ground an amp like that, ever. use only the terminals that are actually on the amp itself.

i do stupid things when i dont understand what happened. thats why i sprayed water on em. i wanted to see how hot they really were since i have a burn on my fingertips now.

Yeah the 2nd ground is definately a problem! The electricity has to take a specific route through the board to function, you grounding the current through the amp case is going to completely fuck that route up. It might even shock your ass or start your car on fire! Any other special tricks in your wiring man? I'm worried now

so far...

Sounds like you really need to be careful and read some more before you just start adding wires....

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

front battery + to rear battery +. rear battery - to chassis (sanded down to bare metal, like any ground should be). big 3 should be done also

no, just that one. other than that its normal. can second ground cause car noise to run through speakers, say a blinker noise when amps running and cars on?

couldn't tell you because ive never seen this situation before. but im sure its not helping your situation one bit. your amp isnt that great a brand also, thats probably partly why it caught on fire
