Vehicle Frequency?

Swan99Hoe

Recommended Posts

I have a 99 Tahoe and I have a aq2200 on one 15 in a box tunned to 40hz. And it kills the highs but it sounds like shit on songs with low bass. I want to tune my next box lower but I keep hearing about vehicle frequency and that you should know what that is before you tune your box. Any insight, advise, or tips on how to find the perfect frequency for your setup? Thanks!

the resonant frequency of your car isnt that relevant unless your talking about straight spl applications. normally just tune it to what kind of music you listen to. if you listen to rap then 30-33 Hz is good. if you listen to rock then 33-36 hz is good

I love car audio so much because I will never be done. I can never win, and I will never get it finished or perfect. It always has me coming back for more, I can never get my fill of it, but I get what I need.

Tuning frequency is only part of it, port size/ratio and box size changes the roll-off

And the driver itself

So basically your saying im going to need quite a few termlab sessions? But as for port size/ ratio box size im a little confused.
