best wood to wall with?

Recommended Posts

What is the best wood to use in building a wall?

What is the cheapest yet decent wood to use?

Im wanting to get a glimpse of the things to come for my upcoming build.

The real question is what is the best wood to use that is wallet friendly but doesn't have a lot of downsides.

Thanks,

Larry

Mdf if you're not looking to spend too much money, and even then its not cheap. Birch is the only other wood I would use. Anything else will end up costing just as much after you pay a bunch of stuff to brace it with.

Ah. Well tonedeaf, I saw that you came up with designs for a box to Colton19.

You think you could possibly help with a wall.

Pm me if you are.

Or anyone else who has experience can pm me about it. I'll pay for the design

Birch > mdf.

End if story. Well worth the extra money for the weight savings alone.

my only argument here is that for my application im into it about 10-12 sheets.

mdf cost is 336

birch cost is 576.

ill break my back over a couple hundred bucks.

You also drive a full size pickup that much weight for a sub compact is a big diff haha

O.p. Personally I would use mdf because of price but as others have said birch is much lighter and even looks nicer IMO but you have to pay for that

Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged
