alright im going for bass. it will be going into a 1996 jeep. which setup in a ported box will be loudest. im not going for 50hz spl nonsense i want low frequency bass. thanks alot, i dont have any experience with either brand but have heard good things about them.

im planning on getting the ROCKFORD FOSGATE POWER T15002 to power the subs, otherwise a few smaller amps (1 per sub) which would also be rockford. would the T15002 put out to much power for 4 of the tempest x 15"

also from looking on the site they only have them installed in in-home applications (for the tempests) , what size box should i build and what would you recommend for tunning frequency.

right away i am probably only going to be able to buy one 18" SSD or two of the tempest. buying the jeep with my money then putting the system and HO alternator in it.

here are the stats for the tempests if you have never heard of them. they use the XBL^2 motor

Re: DC resistance of VC 3.6 Ohms

Le: Inductance of VC 0.49mH

Fs: Resonance frequency 18.5 Hz

Qms: Mechanical compliance loss 2.86

Qes: Electrical motor loss. .50

Qts: Total Q of driver .42

Mms: Moving mass 165g

Cms: Suspension Compliance 0.45 mm/N

Vas: Stiffness of driver scaled by cone size 394L

Sd: Area of the cone 791 cm^2

Vd: Total Diaphragm Displacement volume 4.27L

BL: Motor Strength 11.8

X-Max: One-way linear excursion 27mm

Pmax: Maximum power (music, not RMS) 600W

SPL: Sensitivity db/1W/1M 88.8

thanks, sorry if what i asked is unclear

the thing is i would only be able to buy either one 18" SSD or two of the 15" tempest subs, then come spring im going to be putting more in there (work is slow during the winter) right now i will be able to power the tempests with the amp im running, so that would save me some money for now just in case my car where to break down during the winter and me having no money but really nice subs =)

they are still using the xbl^2 motor i believe. the same as the brahma so im sure they will be a nice sub. i have no idea what to get, ive never had bigger then a 12" sub and no more then 2.4k watts. i think an 18" would look awsome but 27mm xmax on 4 15" would look crazy as well. so im comming to you guys for your expert opinion on which will be louder at low frequencies. i want to tune the box low so any recomendations would be awsome. thanks alot
