deepsilencer
Idk if this is the right section to post this. Anyways, one of my limos started acting funny,ac would sometimes turn off and turn on when it wants to.music would reset also.it was annoying,so I checked everything that might be causing it. I ended up with the alt set up,I got a dmm and check if it was charging,it was.than I unplugged the 2nd alt and the stock alt Wasn't charging at all,so I thought it blew, took it out and tried getting it tested at autozone, but they didn't have the harness to plug the alt in,same thing with kragen,so I took my chances and bought another alt off my friend.I put it in and samething. So I want to know if there's a fuse or a way I can check if the the plug is working to charge the alt? Beacuse I know it ain't the alts now I replaced the aftermarket(2nd alt)w/ one of my dc power 270s and it powered the whole limo like a champ,i can leave the alt in there but I rather fix the problem and do that as my 2nd choice, thanks This is a 2007 cadillac escalade ext Edited October 10, 2011 by deepsilencer Quote TEAM FLEX ISSUES,TEAM DC AUDIO 2000 Silverado Ext 1500 v.3 (Walled Silverado) 4 DC Power 270a Alts on A DC Power Quad Alt Bracket XS Power VCM,Stinger Volt Meters 4 AA Mayhem 18s 2 DC Audio 9.0ks Strapped 1 DC Audio 175.4 4 Selenium 6.5s & 4 Selenium 8s 4 Selenium Super Tweeter st350s 72 SQ Ft Of Stinger Roadkill Expert Alpine CDA 9887 XS Power d3400(Hood),6 XS Power d3100s(Bed) & much more..... 2011 Meca CA State Champion & State Record Holder In M5 Meca SPL:158.2 Meca P&P:137.4 DB Drag:159.1 USACI:161.2 BUILD LOG.....YOUTUBE CHANNEL.....FEEDBACK
n8ball2013
check for a fusible link. Are you getting any power at the lead? disconnect it while the truck is off and see if you have 12 volts. if im thinking right you should have 12 volts from the battery because its connected to the battery still. if not. theres your problem. n8ball2013
you can try a new plug. ITs 20 bucks from rock auto. id follow the lead form the alt first and see where it goes. Ive seen a fusible link pop and all fuses check out etc and after hours of cursing at it you find the link is bad. Ray
Fusible links are only on the output lead. If you check voltage at the charge post you only get 12v when running? The alt is tuned on via the bcm in that truck.
