Decaf Posted November 17, 2007 Author Report Posted November 17, 2007 pshh who needs a router bit for that little amount of wood when you can sand as good as i did just kidding, even if i routed it i still would have had to hand sand to meet the vertical side of port and have it meet all nice like i did. plus had some 150 grit laying around so 15 minutes later and a sore hand, voila...squaro if you can see on box # 1 i didnt cause that was going into the eclipse which should be done monday so i rushed it, my box, i have till x-mas to finish so no rush = more time to make er' perfect
Decaf Posted November 18, 2007 Author Report Posted November 18, 2007 dry fitted top with 4 screws, and finished squaro! i am very pleased and yes, hand sanded again heres a rough guess of the angle the sub will be mounted (blue fi)so the top and bottom screw dont go through the bottom and top piece of mdf since everyone knows it splits almost no matter what, even with predrilling. so to ofset it, the darker/lighter stained fi logo(white outlined in black) will be at an angle. i know this doesnt look optimal but i think it will look good and keep the wood from spliting next is to find some 1/2" hardwood of some kind for a "2nd baffle," will be used moreso to stain, and the rest will be rhinoed on the outside
Decaf Posted November 19, 2007 Author Report Posted November 19, 2007 finished internal bracing, and decided against 2nd baffle, its pretty strong now. i used a hammer to get those dowel rods in it fit so tight rhinolining tomorrow along with installing the eclipse's new kappa 6x9's, more peal&seal, and mounting rf1001bd, and making amp rack for rft4004... waiting on EA alt to finish completely
Decaf Posted November 20, 2007 Author Report Posted November 20, 2007 checkout what all i got done today! battery stock alt with 1/0, when EA alt comes we will switch replaces factory ground to engine block new body ground to replace body ground from bat to fuse box to body interiors in box 6x9's installed with crossovers in space behind opening p&s behind 6x9(6.5 have already been installed, sorry no pics) p&s p&s under seats, so far 9 rolls have been used 4 channel birthsheet sub amp sub amp birthsheet and i rhinoed my box rhinoed top when still separate so its easier since it isnt with a 14" hole opening when hole is cut

Decaf Posted November 21, 2007 Author Report Posted November 21, 2007 a little closer, just have to crimp and solder 1/0 and 4 gauge wires... and get new alt which prolly wont be hear til monday because of turkey day and all. but should have vids of infinity kappa's tomorrow, wed 21st until then, heres the final mounting. we were going to make an amp rack for both but to save space since there's almost none left this is what we did... theres foam behind the mdf for the sub amp and behind the 4 channel amp, what do you guys think
