98 tahoe pass door problem?

Recommended Posts

well lets start of with the 1998 chevy tahoe 2 door and a local installer installed an alarm with remote start. the problem is that on the passenger door when the door switch is disconnected it locks the door like regular but when the switch is connected, if you try to close it it doesnt close at all. the installer said it might be the switch but i just replaced it with a new and still does the same. I really need yalls help!

I'm far from loud and my roof/headliner flaps around like Adam's ass on a windy day. I think it depends more on the structure of the vehicle.

I cant remember if the lock and the door latch are part of the same assembly on that truck?

they arent. you're talking about the door switch on the door itself? with the window controls and everything?

It's a bad wiring job. When it goes to lock it's wired to the unlock wire, causing it to stay unlocked. Almost what it seems like. But what do I know, eh?

I dont know how it locks with the switch disconnected. I know mine wont lock without them being connected. Im positive on the drivers side and im thinking that the passenger is the same

Was it working fine before the install? IF so then it has to do with the wiring job.
