SnowDrifter
I want to do the resin 45s reinforced with 1/4 chopped fiberglass and knytex x-mat. I did a test in a disposable bowl to see what the finished product is like. Well... It turned green so I put it under a lamp and it turned amber, but it's tacky to the touch. So... Could one of you please do a quick walkthrough for a who doesn't know anything about it? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
bassrace
So your resin didnt dry? You might just make a hot batch.... How long has is been since you glassed it? Edit: oh it was a test try.... You must of skimped on the hardening agent a little but that's fine I usually dont put enough to dry quick enough for my liking either. 145.9@40hz 145.3@34hz big 3 X2 group 34 Deka Group 31 All 0/1 awg jl meta wire Alpine CDA 7894 Orion HCCA D5000 2 AQ HDC312's Crunch gpv1100.2 (for 6.5"s only) AQ pro audio 6.5" - 3 sets AQ supertweeters - 2 sets 2000 Slamry
SnowDrifter
Is there any risk in using too much catalyst aside from just wasting it? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
bignickk
Is there any risk in using too much catalyst aside from just wasting it? it will dry a lot faster and if u add too much it will get the resin really hot and it will smoke and burn through your container lol 2000 tahoe orion hcca 15.4 kicker zx2500 2 JL 300/4s infinity and kicker mids/highs KHC1400 in back, stock upfront dont ask about my HU clarion EQ kicker/fosgate rcas

CleanSierra
Is there any risk in using too much catalyst aside from just wasting it? You mix it too hot, it's gonna set up on you before you can work it. You need to get a chart to see what you need for hardener for the temperature outside. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Freshman6969
Its like 2% hardener per ounce of resin? I think Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! Why would you EVER WANT flex?huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct? teardrop
if you use to much it will harden before you can lay it down and if you use to little it can take a long time to harden but it will harden

My panels are drying as we speak it's like 49 degrees out right now... It takes wayy longer to dry in the cold so you would use more hardener to compinsate for the cold... Once you do a couple glassing projects you'll get the hang of it dont worry. 145.9@40hz 145.3@34hz big 3 X2 group 34 Deka Group 31 All 0/1 awg jl meta wire Alpine CDA 7894 Orion HCCA D5000 2 AQ HDC312's Crunch gpv1100.2 (for 6.5"s only) AQ pro audio 6.5" - 3 sets AQ supertweeters - 2 sets 2000 Slamry

I'd do 1 percent if i were a noob Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
