Whats up member, well im back again tryin to figure out wat subs to match with my IA 40.1. This will be a daily setup, amp will be running @1ohm daily. Electricals includes 270a alty, big 3,0 gauge wires, havent decided on battery brand yet but i will be putting 1 underhood and 1 in the rear.

Subs i have in mind are 2 IA dp 12s d1's, 2 IA warden 12s d1's, n 2 DD 9512 d1's.

The IA's will be purchased new, but the DD is used the owner has used them for 2months running off a Sundown 3k. Let me know wat u guys think. Thanks.

im not making this a vs post juz lookin for honest input.

Honestly i would go with the DD woofers....They are nasty...No disrespect to IA but i just know that dd has proven themselves in the lanes time and again

Would there be a noticable difference switching from HCCA 12s to DD9512g's

Yes.. The newer hcca woofers are built as cheap as possible plan and simple.

The pro to them is the 4 inch coil, and simple to recone with no gluing needed.

The cons to the hcca is the 4inch coil is very generic, it dont handle power no where near as good as other 4 inch coiled woofers on the market, nor higher end 3 inch coil woofers like dd9500, dc lvl5, sundown nightshade v2, fi btl, aa mayhem etc. They also have a problem with a heatsink letting go on the pole piece, when this happens it usually breaks the dustcap clean off, and sometimes mangles the coil and needing a new recone. With out the heatsink they cant even handle their rated power.

Its a beast of a woofer, but for how they are built not all and all that great, when they could of made a few slight changes and had a badass woofer.

The DD woofers can get very loud, and handle a shit ton of power doing so, more then the hcca's.

Why? What input is required? People have given good suggestions. I do not understand what would be that PERFECT post someone says that is going to honestly make your mind up for you. Make a choice, do work, post pics, done and done. It's not like either choice is going to be so bad. You're the one that needs to be happy with your set up, and I can tell you our tastes, preferences, and hearing are not going to be the same.
