Sanitarium Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 clamps. and design it around the use of said clamps. Glue > screws. screws are only there to hold it together while the glue dries.

pwdrblucivic Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 Maybe do a split box? I mean top and bottom halves built separately and re-united in trunk.... I have done a few enclosures like this. Both of mine I was able to build a bottom box 2/3 of the height and then build the top. Put a piece of mdf on the inside of bottom half sticking up to give yourself something to fasten top piece to and then put on face plate last.
Sanitarium Posted November 14, 2011 Report Posted November 14, 2011 I've done a split box design like this before for someone who shall remain nameless. top secret stuffs lol (and 150 out of a non sealed off trunk car ) can't find where i saved the actual design, that was the concept i did for the guy to show what i was talking about, sharing port area to save space.
ringspun09 Posted November 15, 2011 Author Report Posted November 15, 2011 Well I was already planing on doing a 3 piece box top main and rear do to it basically being a L shape box. What do you mean design it around the use of clamps?
kingsuv Posted November 15, 2011 Report Posted November 15, 2011 I Do a dry fit of the box, then add cleats to one side and screw it to the other side. time consuming, but once the glue drys its not coming apart. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
