D_outlaw Posted November 20, 2011 Report Share Posted November 20, 2011 I have a 2010 T1D215 in a vented box built to spec with hfi1000.1d it hits great & sounds it to (its in a 1ohm load getting about 930 watts rms)but my buddy thinks that sealed boxes in hatch backs sounds way better and louder he wasn't knocking my stero he just thinks I should try a sealed box to see the difference but before I go buy the wood and build a box I figured I would get some advice from some guys that know there stuff Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Methinks your friend does not have much experience, and I am thinking you do not either. Sad to say, no...probably not getting anywhere close to rated with that amp. For a SPL setup, for sure, but definitely not for daily music listening... Im not a professional but I did run everything in my car so I wouldn't say im a complete idiot about car audio I got my figures just about the amp rms cause hifonics amps are a lil over rated but there still not to bad either Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cheapest upgrade to make sure you get serious performance would be to get an enclosure properly designed for your goals and listening preferences. Next upgrade might be a different amplifier.
