Setting a Line-Out Converter With a DD1

Recommended Posts

So I got my DD1, my car is in the shop, so I still can't set my system.

But I told a friend I could use it on his system, but the problem is, he has a stock stereo with a Line-Out converter to his bass amp. Is it possible to use the DD1 on this, or will I get false readings? How would I go about this. Sorry if this question has already been posted.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks!

yes, but dont be surprised if you find distortion in the signal...some LOC's do that.

I will buy one and run some tests on my bench and make a video of what you might encounter. Which brand is it you use? thanks! :)

I believe my friend is using this stinger model. Hopefully I get to try the DD1 on his car this week!

And your right, I don't believe LOC's give out the best quality so that's why I had my doubt about the dd1 working on it. That's also why I tell most people to get an aftermarket stereo instead of using stock when they are trying to hook up an amp. The RCA output on the aftermarket provides better quality.

Do an audiocontrol hi lo unit( what I have, lc6i to be exact :D) there claim to fame is that normal coverters lose bass as volume goes up(bass bandit as they call it) but there units fix the problem so they say, think it might just be a bass boost but what do I know

Audio Controls statement is true about most LOC's the lc6i is a pretty good piece of equipment I have compared the use of cheapy ones my shop sells and the audiocontrol lc6i's I have purchased to do side projects and there is a huge difference in sound but as for the Stinger LOC mentioned I used a few different Stinger LOC's and they are pretty good units compared to the usual ones my uses. I have one in my cousins car and one in my gf's car but I haven't put the DD-1 on either yet. I will take some time out and try it and post updates when I'm done.
